STAT CHAT - RECOVERY

Comments

Read Now

Each Stat holiday we host an informal chat on an educational or experiential aspect of running.  When members, industry professionals and community leaders share some tips , we all benefit in our running journey.
For Victoria Day 2024 - Mike Hall, MonRun founder, shares some listening and reading notes on recovery.  More than just stretching and rest, the recovery window and a simple, inexpensive tool can add to your recovery routine with minimal effort.

Join us Monday May 6th at 6:30pm - 2265 Robertson Road (Kichesippi Beer Co.) as we kick off the week, the club and new friendships!

Our route in May is a nice mix of all the conditions you'll find in our backyard - wide gravel, road and single track trails nicknamed the Bowtie.
  1. We start out on the trans Canada trail at the rail bridge heading East to Fitzgerald (900m),
  2. Take a right behind Canadian Tire up to Robertson Road and cross at the lights (250m),
  3. Head west on the South side of Robertson, connecting to the path leading up back to the Trans Canada Trail (1km),
  4. Turn left, heading west on the Trans Canada Trail to the 4-way cross of NCC24 and Trans Canada (1km),
  5. Turn right towards Robertson Road and right on the single track trail close to the gate (500m) - option to skip the single track, follow the route back to the bridge (1.5km)
  6. Follow the single track, straight at any cross trails and loop back up to the Trans Canada Trail (500m),
  7. Turn left back to and over the rail bridge to the east extent of Kichesippi Beer Co property (950m)

We are slowly building confidence as a group of likeminded runners to formalize and set MONRUN free into the world.  There are a lot of free running groups in the Ottawa; our goal is to be able to present MONRUN as a fun, engaging, organized and unique option for both experienced and new runners interested in a participating.
If you'd like to participate in the pre-launch phases, have something to share or are interested in more details, click the contact link in the drop down menu, or complete the participation waiver.

Until then, stay tuned as we get our ducks in a row.
